The Year of Interactivity is a major global event designed to celebrate the benefits of interactive services to the world. Its goal is: To celebrate, demonstrate and extend, through the use of interactive services - including but not limited to Internet services - the benefit of interactivity on:
To demonstrate, isomorphically, the impact of interactive services on, education, health, economic development, environment, societal and cultural development, international cooperation and world peace. The Year of Interactivity is modeled on the Year of the Child, the Year of Women and similar programs which have identified a calendar year to highlight and promote understanding of related to a particular issue on a worldwide basis. Institutions, (governments, corporations, charities, formal and informal groups), and individuals,(men, women and children around the globe), are being enlisted to support and participate in the effort. Endorsement is being sought from the United Nations, the President of the United States and other world leaders, and from academic and philanthropic institutions. Sponsorships are being solicited from the business community, especially from those companies which are a part of the interactive services industry - global telecommunications companies, entertainment networks, software and hardware manufacturers, publishers, financial institutions; these are just a few of the potential partners we seek.
